Suite Iberia by Isaac Albéniz is a piano work consisting of 12 movements ('12 Impression') in 4 volumes. This work is regarded as the definite masterpiece of Spanish piano music of the 20th century. Isaac Albéniz wrote numerous piano works, which were transcribed for the guitar already is his own day, and which today are considered standards in the repertoire of the classical guitar.

Isaac Albéniz often referred to the guitar as the source of inspiration for many of his compositions. To this very day, it is commonly believed that the guitar transcriptions are original pieces written for the instrument. Suite Iberia has never before been arranged for the guitar in its entity, for the work is far more virtuoso, complex and ambitious than any other work of Spanish piano music.

For 90 years, Suite Iberia has remained the gem of Spanish piano music, but no one has tried his skill on transcribing the entire work for the guitar, in spite of tradition and the references to the instrument. At first glance, the work may seem terribly confused. Both its duration (about 90 minutes) together with the challenging virtuosity of each movement has no match within the genre of Spanish Impressionism. Having carefully studied the score for two years, Christophe Dejour took up the challenge and transcribed the entire Suite Iberia for 3 guitars.

In August 1997, Christophe Dejour founded the Trio Campanella, who have been working solely on the project Suite Iberia. Trio Campanellas first performance of the whole project took place on July 19, 1998 in the Library Hall of the Round Tower in Copenhagen

Christophe Dejour's arrangement of Suite Iberia was published at sheetmusicnow.com  in 1999.
